I’m drowning in first person dungeon exploration games

My vow to not buy any new games is going fucking horribly, thanks.

I knew Indiana Jones was coming to PS5 but I thought I had until the summer. It comes out WAY earlier than I expected, I bought it, it’s great, and then WHAM, Bethesda shadow drops a fucking Oblivion remaster. So now the question is: which tombs do I want to explore in first person with a torch in my hand?

I’m close to the end of the second area in Indy. It’s really great, though I didn’t enjoy the overworld as much as the Vatican and I wish the puzzles were more complex. The story rules, though.

That Oblivion remaster is a little shaggy, but what’s a Bethesda game without a few bugs. It looks really nice, especially the character models, and plays about the same with a few minor changes (they seem to have added a combo mechanic to the melee combat which doesn’t really work.) Playing it again, I don’t think I realized how much of the original game I sank my teeth into. I always say Morrowind is my favourite, and Skyrim is Skyrim, but I do enjoy the look and feel of Oblivion. I’m surprised how addictive it is, and how much better at it I am with the benefit of 20-ish years of video game experience. It feels less mysterious now that I have a reference for some its more confusing mechanics.
